Keeping our Classroom Happy and Healthy

Music2Grow is all about raising happy, healthy children in a joyful and nurturing music-making community – the health and wellbeing of our families is very important to us. As we head into cold and flu season I want to take the opportunity to highlight the policies we have in place to safeguard the health of you and your children and outline the ways in which parents and carers can assist us in reducing the incidence of illness in our classroom over the winter months.

What if I need to miss a class?

Thank you for staying home when you or your child are unwell and for being sensitive to others in your class who may be at higher risk of complications from illness, such as pregnant women, young children and babies. Please advise as early as practical if you will be missing class – this will allow me to open your spot to a family requiring a make-up class.

Make-Up Classes

We have a generous make-up class policy. You can make-up a missed class at any time during a term in which you are enrolled. There is no limit to the number of make-up classes you can attend and you can take your make-up class in any age-appropriate class where places are available.*

In the event of teacher illness, a make-up class will be scheduled at a suitable time. I will notify you of the cancellation and the scheduled make-up date.

Did you know? Our make-up class policy applies for classes missed for any reason, including holidays, family events or work. Please notify me of your absence as early as practical and request a make-up class.

* Please note, make-up classes can only be taken in a term in which you are enrolled. Make-up classes are dependent on availability and are not guaranteed. They are not refundable or redeemable for credit.

What is Music2Grow doing to promote optimal health in the classroom?

• All instruments are cleaned and disinfected before and after each class.
• An antibacterial hand wash is available for you to wash your hands before and after class, and even between activities if you wish.
• We clean high touch points and common use equipment such as tables, light switches and door handles regularly.
