The Rhythm of My Day is an 8 week unit for babies (newborn – 18 months) with a parent/caregiver.
Have you ever thought of how your day flows in a rhythmic and almost musical pattern? – The waking of each morning; the routines that we follow in preparing our families and ourselves for each day’s journey. In The Rhythm of My Day we capture these daily rituals and routines – everything from bath time to Mummy or Daddy’s arrival home from work – through a variety of songs, chants and instrumental selections. Music for quieter rituals includes the classic love song, Let Me Call you Sweetheart, and Sarabande from the Bach Cello Suites. Upbeat selections include an Appalachian favourite, Baby-O, a Klezmer arrangement of Hevenu Shalom and a syncopated dance to the Jamaican song Water Come a Me Eye. We’ll enjoy a play-along to Uskudar, an old Turkish folk song, and The Mulberry Bush becomes our unofficial class theme song with many fun variations. Class activities will help you bring more rhythm and routine to your baby’s day, as well as help develop lasting learning skills. We’ll show you how and tell you why music can help your little one soothe into the day’s schedule and help build a strong body and mind network for learning.
