Kindermusik for Babies: Hickory, Dickory, Tickle & Bounce

Music2Grow is getting ready for a new term of Kindermusik Village!

Hickory, Dickory, Tickle & Bounce is an 8 week unit for babies (newborn – 18 months) with a parent/caregiver.

Share the gift of language, song, play and movement with your baby in this playful unit based on the Nursery Rhymes of Mother Goose. Activities include English rhymes and songs, a lullaby each from Sweden and Italy, the Mexican favourite La Cucaracha and both a nursery song and a dance medley from China.  A baroque flute sonata serves as music for dancing and selections for Quiet Time include Cuddle Up a Little Closer, Lovey Mine (an early 1900s American favourite) and a beautiful choral arrangement of All the Pretty Little Horses.  We explore the fundamental musical concepts of Steady Beat; Up and Down; and Major, Minor and More.  Wiggle fingers and toes to This Little Piggy and play peekaboo.  Explore chime balls, scarves and humongous scarves, as well as assorted instruments and an everyday object – the plastic cup!  We’ll also introduce some simple sign language to use with your baby.

Classes held in the Community Access Room at Cooroy Library – Tuesdays 10.30am or Fridays 12.00pm
