Get ready to cook up a musical storm with us! Our Term 3 themes are all about the weather, cooking and the joy and comfort of sharing good food and good stories with those we love.

Each age-appropriate unit (for babies, toddlers, preschoolers and big kids, 0-7 years) is packed with music, stories and activities to stimulate language, physical, cognitive, social and emotional development and inspire a lifetime love of music and learning. Music is the perfect winter-time activity to share with your child.

In class, we’ll also share tips and ideas for using music throughout the week. Plus, the fun (and learning!) continue with your Kindermusik online resources, including all class music, listening excerpts and each unit’s story, to support the classroom experience – two new learning themes every term. 😊🎶

All classes are facilitated by Verna Hewitt who holds a Graduate Diploma of Education and has over 18 years of experience in early childhood education.

Music and movement classes at Music2Grow provide a warm and welcoming introduction to music, immersing your child in rhythm, song, rhymes, instrument play, movement and steady beat activities to nurture their growth and development. Small-group, weekly classes provide a warm, personal experience where each child’s unique responses and development are acknowledged and your role as your child’s most important teacher is supported and nurtured.

Classes on offer in Term 3

Foundations for Babies (0-1 years)
Foundations is a joyful music experience – a rich community of sharing and learning for you and your little one, with emphasis placed on sensory exploration, beat, rhythm, movement, vocal play, listening and bonding. Each week you and your baby will enjoy a unique blend of musical learning activities that engage all the senses and stimulate your baby’s developing brain – promoting language, physical, cognitive, social and emotional growth.

Level 1 for Walkers (1-2 years)
Level 1 provides a warm and welcoming introduction to music, immersing your young toddler in rhythm, song, rhymes, instrument play, movement and steady beat activities to nurture their growth and development. Class activities encourage your toddler to explore and experience music with their whole bodies and to respond in their own way, while your active participation gives them the security they need to join in all the musical fun.

Level 2 for Toddlers (2 & 3 years)
For your toddler, every day brings new discoveries and opportunities to explore the world around them. Our Kindermusik class for older toddlers celebrates the unique joys of your growing child and invites them to be creative, to initiate their own ideas and to respond to the music and movement activities in their own way – while your active participation gives them the security they need to engage and explore.

Level 3 for Preschoolers (3-5 years)
Level 3 combines your preschooler’s natural love of music, storytelling, and imaginative play with age-appropriate activities that introduce early music concepts and foster independence, social and emotional skills, language growth, and self-control. Each week provides your preschooler with one uninterrupted session of imaginative, musical play that is guided in a very specific, sequential way. Musical concepts and skills needed to succeed in learning and instrument are gradually developed and reinforced.

Level 4 for Older Preschoolers/Prep (4-6 years)
At this age, children love learning and making music with their peers and can now begin to apply what they are learning in different ways. Level 4 classes provide the perfect environment that encourages your child without pushing. The rich foundation of musicianship which Kindermusik lays instills a life-long love of music and learning and has the potential to accelerate later progress on an instrument.

Mixed Age Class (0-5 years)
Our mixed-age class offers a wonderful opportunity for families with children aged newborn – 5 years to attend a Music2Grow class together. This is a class where each child is welcomed and valued and family together-time is celebrated and cherished. Activities are conducted in an open-ended, playful atmosphere designed to maintain each child’s interest and offer a variety of ways to explore each week’s theme with babies, toddlers and preschoolers. Mixed-age classes create a foundation for musical growth and development as well as an opportunity for family growth and learning.


Level 5 (5-7 years): Kindermusik for the Young Child
This four-semester curriculum is the culmination of the Kindermusik experience – an all important step in your child’s musical growth. Young Child is not an end product but rather a bridge between the music play of early childhood and the more formal musical experiences of the middle childhood years. These classes are a musical learning experience that set the stage for future school success and the transition into formal music lessons. Our Young Child classes will take your child on a journey of learning through song, joyful play, listening and performing. Young children who continue Kindermusik classes into early school age will develop a greater capacity for learning and a lifelong love of music.
